The requirements listed in this policy are for general posting areas on the forum and are not intended to supplant policies for individual postings. These policies have been developed in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, the Associated Student Body, the Office of the University and the Office of University Communications. All questions regarding these policies should be directed to the Office of International Students, Shihezi University.
GENERAL POSTING GUIDELINES FOR BULLETIN BOARDS[/b]
Any and all items for general posting must be approved after posting by the Admin or a Moderator. The approval process is ongoing. If the post remains, it means it is approved.
If a message is libelous, hateful, or obscene (not necessarily profane), the message will be deleted, and the poster notified. Further offenses may result in banning.
Posts promoting the initiation of violence, or racial hatred, or bigotry, will be deleted, and the poster notified. Further offenses may result in banning.
Advertising or organizing for activities that violate the principles of liberty, is unacceptable. Such posts will be deleted, and the poster may be banned with or without warning.
Posts that are obvious trolls will be deleted, and the poster notified. Further offenses may result in banning.
Please use decent language and ways of saying things to others. Be nice, soft, even when you are not comfortable about the comments others have posted, this will reflect your inside personality.
Some guidelines for forum courtesy:
Stay on topic -- if you need a new topic, start a new thread, or even better, move your discussion to an existing thread on that topic.
Post to the correct board.
Consider looking for an existing thread on your topic before starting a new thread. Why reinvent the wheel?
If you need a thread moved or consolidated, IM a moderator.
Bumping threads or creating new threads simply to drown other threads is rude. Be considerate of the other posters, who may not be interested in the
same things as you.
Make your thread titles clear and specific.
A note on "censorship":
There is a high level of tolerance for varying and different views and discussions on this forum, but it is far from absolute, as per the guidelines above. At times, there are people who make the assertion that the forum is somehow "un-Constitutional" or "against free speech", when our few weary and under-appreciated moderator volunteers actually moderate, delete posts or even ban members on the forum. That claim is based on a poor understanding of the basis of rights: no person or private organization should ever be forced or enslaved to sponsor another's views. Thus, complaints that you are being denied your rights to free speech by not being able to post whatever you wish on our forum will be ignored.
Please help make our forum a friendlier place to navigate!
